July 16-21

Campers can take the skills and concepts from the previous week to a deeper level if they wish to stay for two weeks. However, campers do not need to attend the previous week in order to register for this week!

Campers can practice their survival skills on a brief backpacking trip on the

Appalachian Trail; Get hands-on farm experience similar to that found in the countries in

the Global Village; Explore the international side of the nation’s Capital; and give back through a service project.

Our NEW summer camp option!

What is Global Citizen Camp?

Camp can be more than just sunshine, swimming, and friendships! With Global Citizen Camp we aim to cultivate a passion for lifelong learning. In a unique setting and with a group of peers, why not put some incredibly important life concepts into practice - Poverty, hunger, conflict resolution, stereotypes, stewardship, taking action, etc? When campers leave a week of Global Citizen Camp they should have a heightened sense of value and self-worth; not just for themselves, but for all people...and of course, sunshine, swimming, and friendships!

Critical Thinking

The programming to go along with the Global Citizen camp is meant to get each camper thinking beyond their own world view to learn the qualities of a good Global Citizen.

Sleeping

Bunk bed style cabins provide the best opportunity to make new friends and bond with one another. Each cabin has it's own full bathroom and is equipped with multiple box fans. There may be up to 10 campers with 2 staff in each cabin. Check out our poplar village virtual tour for a closer look. For our Global Citizen camp, campers may sleep one night in the Global Village.

Eating

All of our meals are prepared in our commercial kitchen by our camp chef or cooked over a fire in the Global Village during cookout night. Dietary  and allergy restrictions can be accommodated, be sure to add those details when submitting your registration online.
