"I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the tea this afternoon! The venue is beautiful, the food and drink was wonderful, and my table-mates from the Beaver Creek COB were unbelievably warm and inviting. Thank you again for a heart-lifting and filling experience!!" —Terry D.

Shepherd's Spring

"Between November 2016 and January 2017, I had the pleasure of leading two retreats at Shepherd’s Spring—one for our high school youth and another for our young adults. Both weekends were amazing times of being together, encountering the Holy Spirit, engaging with the story of God, and finding time to relax and simply be. The environment at Shepherd’s Spring was perfect for this. From comfortable sleeping arrangements to a warm and inviting gathering space to scrumptious meals, we found everything well suited to our needs.

Our high school students found space to connect with God, especially through the labyrinth and prayer path, while our young adults enjoyed time to linger over meals and the opportunity to sip coffee while looking out over a landscape beautifully covered in ice one morning. The staff and host at Shepherd’s Spring helped ensure that all of our needs were met and then some. In the midst of our incredibly busy lives it can seem like opportunities to slow down, pause, rest, and encounter God are few and far between. Shepherd’s Spring provides just such an opportunity and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to encounter Jesus in such a beautiful setting." —Pastor Calvin, FCOB

Summer Camp

"My favorite memories of Shepherd's Spring are attending Grand Camp with each one of my grandchilden over the past nine years.  Spending time with them on a one-to-one basis and doing camping activities such as hiking, caving, swimming, morning watch, and singing has been a highlight for me, and one I will always terasure and never forget.

When I was on the Camp Committe in the early 1990's, I often wished I was a camper again and able to experience some of the new ideas.  I was so happy when Grand Camp appeared on the summer camping schedule.  I could hardly wait until my first grand-daughter turned six years old!"  —Glenna

“My best camp memory was when we took a hike to a small little path, and it led to this beautiful little beach area.  My K-group had our Bible study there, and it was a breathtaking moment.  We were able to compare sinking sand to solid rock all in one area!  That is my best memory.”  —Samantha D.

Road Scholar

"I had a wonderful time.  It was a great learning experience that exceeded my expectations.  I know you put a lot of effort in to making this an enjoyable experience for all.   Accommodations were great.  Food was excellent, and speakers were interesting and informative." —Alan

"Thank you Shepherd's Spring staff for making our week so wonderful.  People are more important than the Appalachian Trail, and you demonstrated it well.  Thanks again for making our week so enriched!" —Dan & Irene

Birdwatcher Retreat

"A group of Birders led by Chris Eberly and Doug Ruby met at Shepherd’s Spring in May. Friday night’s activities kept us close to camp with looking for birds and enjoying a presentation by Doug. Saturday morning brought a walking tour along the C&O Canal. We then boarded camp vans for a driving tour of Antietam Battlefield where Burnside Bridge was the location of our picnic lunch. Our much anticipated stop for Nutters Ice cream was appreciated by all. The driving tour then proceeded to Williamsport, Maryland, where birds were viewed along the Potomac River and a portion if the C&O Canal. An early start on Sunday morning brought us to the Fish and Wildlife Service Training Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, for a demonstration of bird netting and banding. We want to thank Shepherd’s Spring for facilitating Chris Eberly’s visit from Texas. The number of bird species seen or heard came to 82. It was a very successful weekend, with everyone having a good time and looking forward to next year."   —Steve and Bev Vogel
