Shepherd's Spring Summer Camps
Our Outdoor Ministry program sponsors several summer camping opportunities for young and old alike. The programs, as well as our facilities, are designed to promote a stronger relationship with God, others, and the whole of creation. The programs are also designed to help the youth enhance their self-esteem, confidence, and individuality.
The campers work in small group "family units." These groups experience the week's activities as they live together in Christian community. From these experiences, friendships are often formed that last a lifetime.
Old and new, friends ensure a week of fun and fellowship. A variety of camping experiences are offered which include activities such as: hiking, biking, backpacking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, outdoor living skills, and environmental learning. Daily Discoveries are firmly rooted in Scripture and offer a fun, thoughtful way to explore our relationship with God and with one another.
There is something for everyone. Come for a week of fun, friendship, and growth!
Shepherd's Spring Camp programs are ACA (American Camping Association) accredited. Visit their website, www.acacamps.org, for additional information on accreditation standards.

Volunteers
- Volunteers are an important part of the learning experience for campers. We need your help to ensure campers have fun, learn of the Secrets of the Kingdom and are safe. Please consider giving of your time - a few hours, a day or a week. The rewards of sharing God’s love are priceless!
Volunteer Training
- May 19
- June 16
- Cost $5
- Keeping current with rules and regulations is part of the training we are required to provide for those who are caring for the children in our summer camp programs. Please choose one of the volunteer training dates to become familiar with the goals of your camp volunteer experience, share your experiences with other trainees, and get the latest update on regulations.
Counselor-in-Training
- If you are a youth (ages 15-17) and have ever thought about working with children, being in the outdoors, or serving God then become a counselor in training (CIT)! The CIT position offers youth the opportunity to see and learn what it is like to be a counselor at Shepherd’s Spring.
- Click here for more information on CIT training.
- For many of our on-site camps, "camping" occurs in cabins which sleep 10 campers and counselors. Dining and some camp activities are in the main lodge. The pool hosts our canoe instruction, swimming, and other water-related activities. The nearby Potomac River and Antietam Creek provide opportunities for canoeing adventures for those campers who have completed the necessary training.
- Our travel camps take the camp experience beyond the property boundaries of Shepherd's Spring. Campers are transported by screened drivers in safety tested vehicles for their off site adventures. Many of the trip and travel adventures involve sleeping in tents pitched by the campers and their counselors and cooking over an open fire.
Our Program Calendar provides a complete listing of our upcoming programs and camps.
